Presenting Tao Bar & Restaurant

Tao Bar & Restaurants

A sleek, stylish bar and restaurant designed by Tony Thomas, with an innovative Euro-Pacific menu, served by European waiters and managed with Italian panache, makes Tao unique. Over twelve years in Bow Lane, Tao is still considered to be one of the most popular bars in the area, and with the spacious courtyard regularly attracts hundreds of drinkers on balmy evenings.

The decor of the ground floor bar is modern with a bold red column and a prominent wall blazoned in vibrant blues, with dark blue upholstery and comfortable couches and bar stools.

The spacious basement dining room is quite spectacular, with tables over two levels and a private dining room, which will accommodate up to 14 people. The special paint effects are continued with an impressive sand storm wall and maintaining the feeling of calm, as one enters from the stairs, a sheet of opaque glass with cascading water provides a soothing decorative feature.

During December a marquee is set up in the courtyard to accommodate Christmas parties. This can be hired on week day evenings at no extra charge.

Head chef, Timothy Alston benefits from international experience, having developed his talents in some of the world’s finest restaurants. He brings to Tao a contemporary and unique style of cuisine. With ideas and input from his team, his menu incorporates modern and fresh ideas from the Orient, blended with European and Italian classics.
