The modish menu regularly features updated trattoria dishes and superb authentic pizzas. Bruschetta with peperonata and tiger prawns, smoked mozzarella frittata with pesto and a superb Caesar salad are among the antipasti; pasta and rice dishes include homemade ravioli and a seafood risotto enriched with prawn bisque.

Fish dishes can include a classic calamari casserole; often among the meat dishes, Scallopine Milanese is re-interpreted and served with a garnish of rocket. Italian style homemade burgers, peppered steaks and sliced calf's liver with Italian bacon will particularly delight carnivores.

Incidentals, such as the homemade ketchup that accompanies first-rate French fries and the patented dressings that accompany beautifully composed salads, betray a level of attention to detail that would befit a restaurant charging twice the price. A special tip to those with a sweet tooth: the desserts here are to die for.

The manager, Franco, will be happy to further elucidate what is a well-composed and concisely annotated list of modern wines, featuring fifteen of each colour, plus a spectacular rosé and prosecco. The service, as one might expect, is friendly and informal.
